Beth and Daniel...

In an earlier post I told you I was going to do a Bible study on the book of Daniel given by Beth Moore. She has an amazing God-given talent beyond description to bring the Word to life and relevancy. She talks fast and your head is usually spinning from all the insight and knowledge you have heard from her and Gods Word. Anyways when our study is finished we will have had eleven weeks of study and twelve sessions with Beth Moore (video). We all know the Sunday School lesson of Daniel in the Lion's Den. But it is a more intense and deeper piece of history than one might remember from Sunday School with many other scenes surrounding it. I am going to give you quick highlights of our journey thru the book of Daniel so far. We are about 1/2 way done with the study so I chose now to do so. Maybe there will be some insight for you and this will help me to remember what I have so gratefully learned.

The first half of the study was on living a life of integrity. The last half of the study (just starting) will be a study on prophecy and end times. So onto relating to you what I have learned thus far... and by NO MEANS will I ruin it for you should you decide to do this study your self...
like I said your head is swimming when she finishes!!!

Week 1) Babylon, not just an ancient city but the mentality that surrounds us right here in the USA. Luxury, entertainment, choices of many kinds at our fingertips from what coffee should I order to what piece of furniture to buy next or vacation to go on. Not that choices are bad but we are surrounded by self-indulgence. And we need to be wary not to let that mentality indoctrinate us but to resolve to indoctrinate the "Babylon" around us.

Week 2)The image in King Nebuchadnezzar's dream depicts the empires of this world till the return of Christ. "History is not a cyclical process of endless repetition but is being moved toward the predetermined end"-Beth Moore...OH! and the rock, the cornerstone...the perfect fit...oh! just consider doing the study!!!

Week 3) When facing a fiery trial we have three scenarios:
A) We can be delivered from the fire-our faith is built
B) We can be delivered through the fire-our faith refined
C) We can be delivered by the fire into His arms-our faith perfected

Oh! the Divine set-up for a step up!!! ....You have to consider doing this study!!!! See I am not giving too much away! Theres too much to learn here!!!

Week 4) Pride-the Babylon mentality "I am and there is none beside me" Daniel 4 v. 30
Don't let pride get the best of you. The way up is down, the way down is up.

Week 5) We have been declared Holy-resolve to live a holy life so Satan does not declare you as common/ordinary. Satan wants us to believe we are not who we ARE, whether he gets us to believe we are more or less...

Week 6) Daniel in the Lion's Den. In an emergency we can either: panic-do the wrong thing, become paralyzed-do no thing/nothing, or we can pray-the power thing!

Now week 7, just the beginning of the prophecy/end times section. I would wait to tell you but it is too exciting. The ANCIENT OF DAYS!!!!!! Whenever the scriptures refer to this title for God it is speaking of His judgement, THE true ONE and ONLY judge! Judges of this world will be judged by the Judge Himself. Basically, GOD KNOWS!!! He knows the guilty AND He knows the INNOCENT!!! And when Christ comes riding on the clouds all wrongs will be righted. Nothing will be clouded, for the Ancient of Days has judged.

The Ocean

The ocean...my favorite place! I have always been intrigued by its vast beauty and the history it holds, the stories it could tell. So it is exciting to live less than two hours from it! Here are some pictures from one of our recent trips there. 1) D & me on the balcony of our room at Starfish Manor 2) the beautiful ocean 3) more beautiful ocean! 4) a cute store frontage on Lincoln City, Oregon 5) part of our room at Starfish Manor. When we arrived at our room for the weekend stay there were rose petals everywhere! It was very pretty and a nice stay. Thank you Donovan, you always plan superb getaways.
